Your cat or kitten should get vaccinated, microchipped and neutered if they aren't already. We can arrange a first health check with the vet and get started with everything they need, including flea & worming treatment if necessary. We'll go through everything you need when we see you. You can also join our Healthy Cat Plan to help spread the cost of their essential care.
We have a wealth of information about cat ownership in our Advice Library.

Welcoming a new kitten is such a special moment. Whether it’s your first cat or you're adding to your furry family, here are some tips for a smooth homecoming:
Create a quiet, cozy space just for your kitten. A small area with a bed, litter box, food and water gives them a safe spot to adjust. Make sure that it is away from other pets or children, and away from any main thoroughfares that may get busy in the household.
Go slow with introductions – if you have other pets, keep them separated at first. Let them sniff each others scents on blankets, towels or clothing before face-to-face meetings.
Supervise early interactions – short, calm sessions are best. Give lots of praise and treats to everyone involved! Always stop any meet-ups if anyone is feeling stressed or if behaviours become more negative.
Stick to a routine – regular meals, gentle playtime and quiet naps help your kitten feel secure.
It may take a little time but with patience and love, your new kitten will soon feel right at home! Any questions about introducing pets? Our team is here to help.
Bringing your new kitten to the vet for the first time is an exciting milestone! To make the visit smooth and stress-free, here are a few quick tips:
Bring a comfy carrier – Line it with a soft towel or blanket and maybe a familiar toy to help your kitten feel safe.
Pack the essentials – Bring any medical records, adoption papers and note down any questions you have.
Avoid feeding right before – A slightly empty tummy helps with travel sickness and makes treat rewards more effective! We would advise that you avoid feeding your kitten in the 2 hours before the journey to see us.
Stay calm and reassuring – Kittens pick up on your energy, so speak softly and give gentle encouragement.
Our team is here to make this first visit a positive experience—for both of you! Call us or book online to schedule your kitten’s wellness exam today. Click here for more information on our kitten starter package.
Your kitten’s first vet visit was a great success - great job! Now we need to focus on helping your little one settle down afterwards:
Let them rest – It’s normal for kittens to be a bit sleepy or quiet after their visit. A cozy, quiet space away from children or other animals in the home, helps them to recharge.
Offer a small meal – If they’re up for it, a light snack or treat is a great way to end the visit and travel on a positive note.
Keep things calm – Avoid loud noises or too much excitement. This is their time to decompress.
Follow vet advice – Review any notes or recommendations you received. Got questions? We're just a call away!
Your kitten is off to a healthy start, and we’re honoured to be part of their journey.
